One day, a group of lawyers went out for lunch together. They were enjoying their meal when a man entered the restaurant and approached their table.
The man said, "Excuse me, but I couldn't help but overhear that you're all lawyers. I have a legal question that I've been trying to figure out, but I just can't seem to find the answer. Can you help me?"
The lawyers were happy to help, so the man continued, "Here's my question: if you're in a car traveling at the speed of light and you turn your headlights on, what happens?"
The lawyers all looked at each other, a bit perplexed. After a moment, one of them spoke up and said, "Well, I'm not sure about the speed of light, but I can tell you that if you're traveling at the speed limit no one's going to be able to catch you and give you a ticket."
Everyone at the table burst out laughing, and the man left the restaurant feeling satisfied with his answer.
